Global Templates

Global templates help admins standardize classification settings across spaces.

They are useful when an organization wants consistent classification levels, visual styles and permission guidance.

Use a global template when:

  • Multiple spaces should share the same classification model.
  • Admins want consistent names and descriptions.
  • New spaces should start from an approved classification setup.
  • Governance teams need reusable configuration.

TODO: Confirm product behavior. Confirm whether spaces inherit global template updates automatically or copy template values at setup time.

A global template provides a reusable starting point. Space configuration can support local needs when a space requires different guidance or a different level set.

TODO: Confirm product behavior. Confirm whether space admins can override all template fields or only selected fields.

A Confluence admin creates a global template with Pending Classification, Internal, Confidential and Restricted. New regulated spaces can start from the template instead of rebuilding the same levels manually.
